The British Airways JFK Terminal has more than enough amenities. There are numerous stores, restaurants, and seating places in Terminal 1. Before boarding, I managed to find a peaceful place to unwind, get a book, and get a coffee. There were plenty of charging outlets around, and the restrooms were spotless and convenient. The British Airways area of the terminal seems very well-kept. It's not ostentatious, but it's comfy and useful—exactly what I want before a lengthy trip. Terminal 1 feels more manageable than JFK, which may be overpowering.
